Mac Lewis and Jesse Gröse Claim Both 2023 FARA MP3B Titles

After a rollercoaster Friday test day, where Mac was involved in an off-track excursion leaving the Boxster with suspension damage. Mac braved Saturday’s treacherous conditions, finishing 3rd in the first sprint. While the second sprint and night endurance was cancelled due to worsening conditions.

Mac decided to waive the first sessions on Sunday to have the Boxster in fighting shape for the final sprint and impromptu endurance race.

Twenty-five minutes into the sprint/endurance race, after Mac had fought from starting last up to 3rd in class, Mac was forced to pit early with brake issues. The team decided to swap in Jesse Gröse and use the stop as their four-minute mandatory pitstop. Jesse confirmed the ailing Boxster has brake and alignment issues that are worsening as the race goes on.

Jesse started climbing through the field, regaining positions lost during the driver change. Ending up first in class before he was forced to make a stop for a splash of fuel.

Fifteen minutes later, Jesse had claimed the class win and locked down the 2023 MP3B Endurance championship.
